Laser correction of near sightedness:
Near-sightedness is a common visual defect caused by a refractive error and often shows inheritable properties. Near-sighted people see objects that are close to them well, but far away objects are blurry. The reason for this may be that the curve of the cornea is too convex or the axis of the eyeball is too long. Due to these abnormality, the focalpoint is before the retina and a blurred image is reflected onto it.Laser procedures treat near-sightedness by decreasing the curve of the cornea and thus placing the focalpoint in the correct location on the retina. The treatment is painless and it can solve your visual problems.

Treatment up to -12,0 D.

Laser correction of far sightedness:
Far-sightedness may be caused by the following factors: the curve of the cornea is too small, or the surface is too flat or the axis of the eyeball is too short. This causes the focalpoint of the light to fall behind the retina. Far-sighted people have blurred vision when viewing objects near or far, but at a young age the eye is capable of compensating for the defect and far-sightedness remains unnoticable.

Laser procedures treat far-sightedness by increasing the curve of the cornea and bringing the focal point forward onto the retina.

Treatment up to +6,0 D.

Cataracta surgery:
If your crystalline lense is growing dim and making your problems, it is time for cataracta surgery.

The operation is painless, we use local anesthesia (drops). Instead of using laser the operation is done by ultrasonic. After the modern ultrasonic treatment you can recover fast. In some days you can live your everyday life.

Laser correction of astigmatism:
Astigmatism is a very common visual defect. The cornea has two main curves (one is more curved than the other) and its form resembles the shape of a rugby ball. When light fails to converge at a single focal point, a clear image cannot be formed.

This simply means that during the procedure two curves need to be adjusted (opposed to a standard near-sighted case), so that the focal point of the light falls on the retina.

Treatment up to -7,0 D.

Other treatments:

One day surgery:

In addition to laser correction and cataracta surgery you can have other treatments, such as strabismus or eyelid surgery etc.

If your child has glasses:

Refractive problems are often discovered in childhood. Parents often become suspicious when a child’s movements and reactions seem uncertain or they complain of not being able to see the blackboard in school. You can only be certain that there is a problem after a thorough medical examination.

Don’t forget that clear vision is important in childhood development and good performance in school. Our pediatric opthalmology clinics welcome families who would like an initial screening or exam for their child.

Children can be examined from 3 months of age and up. The visit is conducted in pleasant and calm atmosphere.

We will treat your child for any apparent problems and schedule follow-up examinations in the future.

Zyoptix: – A new milestone for laser eye treatment

Bausch&Lomb’s unique laser vision correction system advanced the Lasik procedure to a new level of precision.

The wavefront technology is a diagnostic tool that achieves a more accurate and truly personalized vision correction.

Zyoptix: personalized vision correction for treating more severe cases of refractive impairments

The Zyoptix treatment is based on the LASIK procedure. This treatment also involves the creation of a flap, but the method used is different. It differs from the traditional programs by allowing for a totally personalized treatment.

With the use of the wavefront measurement tools, the Zyoptix system is sensitive to the small imperfections in the shape of the eye that can cause a scattering of light, which in turn can contribute to vision impairment. For example, more serious refractive irregularities can cause shadows to appear around light spots or light rings.

The most important attributes of Zyoptix:
Totally individualized.
Fast and painless.
Quick recovery.
20% less tissue needs to be removed.
More treatment possibilities and can correct conditions with higher diopters.
Better vision quality.
Excellent vision even when light conditions vary.
Driving at night is not a problem, no glittering illumination.
Most modern technology.
Advanced safety mechanisms that garuantee a successful procedure.

LASIK: -The most popular procedure

LASIK (LASer In situ Keratomileusis) – Laser procedure using the flap techniques

Laser treatments using the creation of a flap have evolved a lot in the last few years. They performed the first LASIK type surgery in 1991 and it has been the most refined and popular techinique since. Many thousand LASIK procedures are perforned each year in Europe and many million throughout the world. In the United States more than 92% of surgeries performed to treat near-sightedness, far-sightedness and astigmatism are LASIK. “LASIK – Is a true miracle!”

What is the secret to the success of LASIK?

The procedure is painless and it takes no longer than 3-5 minutes. For most patients the results are immediate and they can see clearly the day of the surgery.

How is LASIK performed?

The surgeon, using a special precise device (microkeratome), creates a flap consisting of the upper corneal layer. This flap is lifted so that the laser procedure can be performed on the area underneath. This takes about 1-2 minutes for each eye. The flap is then returned to its original position without suturing and heals naturally.
The LASIK procedure is performed by an automated machine designed especially for the ultrafine needs of eye correction. The instrument has many built-in safety systems that supervise the entire procedure, reducing risk to the lowest possible level. The safety and results of LASIK have been supported by many clinical tests. Its popularity continually grows, because patients receive many unquestionable benefits, founded on a decade of experience.
